Draft budget consultation | Wyndham

Wyndham council is inviting residents to share their ideas for the municipality’s 2022-23 draft budget.

Community members have been encouraged to share feedback on matters including improving services, programs and infrastructure as well as the continued recovery from COVID-19.

Wyndham Mayor Peter Maynard said: “Community expertise is essential to shaping our draft annual plans and budgets.

“It’s your city, and you know what works and what needs to improve.”

Community members can share images, video and text responses via the council’s Loop engagement page, relevant to specific locations within Wyndham.

The council is also hosting a range of events as part of the Summer of Fun 2022, with attendees invited to participate in specific events in each ward and catch up with councilors to share their ideas.

“We are inviting the community to get involved and have their say,” Councilor Maynard said.

“If you have a great idea, no matter how big or small, now is the time to share it with us.”

Residents can submit their draft budget ideas until Sunday, February 20.

The draft annual plan and budget will then be developed, and public exhibition of the document is scheduled for April.

Following this, the draft annual plan and budget will be voted on by the council in June.

Residents can meet councilors and share their draft budget ideas at the following events:

• Friday, February 4, 5-7pm at the Point Cook Pop Up Park, Murnong Street, Point Cook.

• Friday, February 11m, 5-7pm at the Baden Powell Skate Park at Meet Me in Tarneit, 120 Baden Powell Drive, Tarneit.

• Sunday, February 13, 10 am-noon, Wedge Street Piazza, Werribee.
