Man arrested after fight in Altona North

Police have arrested a man after a fight in Altona North on Wednesday, January 26th.

Police were called to a mall on Millers Road after reports that a man was armed with a machete around 9.30pm.

The man allegedly hit the victim’s car after an incident on the road before confronting him with a machete and damaging his car.

The man then allegedly chased the victim through a parking lot before the victim could get into his car and escape.

The 31-year-old Mount Duneed man was arrested inside a nearby supermarket and charged with assault, conduct that endangered serious injuries, assault and weapon offenses.

He was sentenced to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on 15 August.
