It’s not a permanent farewell – the burger biz says they’re planning a “relaunch” 🍔
A burger joint operating from a Kitsilano arcade bar has announced it is closing temporarily to regroup ahead of a planned relaunch.
Mimi’s Burgers officially opened just before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in Vancouver and BC’s resulting restaurant closure. The casual burger place with its “no-frills” menu of burgers and fries operates out of Glitch, a “retro arcade bar” at 2287 West Broadway.
“What followed” after the opening in March 2020 has “been worrying for everyone,” Mimi’s Burgers describes on its social media, “let alone a brand new company.”
Despite setbacks, including government-mandated pandemic restrictions, Mimis confirms that they have been well supported by locals and third-party delivery app companies, but for now, the burger place will “pause operations in preparation for an expansion of our Mimi’s Burgers brand” . “
So far, Mimi’s has not shared any details on what the expansion entails, though it may be likely that the burger bar has secured its own permanent place. The Burgerbiz encourages fans and customers to keep an eye on and engage with @mimiskits Instagram and Mimi’s Burger Facebook page for updates prior to the relaunch.
