Thousands of Coldplay fans will have to wait a little longer to see the multiplatinum-selling pop-rock band on its upcoming Music of the Spheres World Tour.
Unfortunately, that number includes all Californians with tickets to catch vocalist Chris Martin and company at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara and SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
“We are very sad to announce that due to logistical issues we have had to change the opening dates of our US tour,” the band said in a statement on Twitter. “The American shows now begin in Dallas at Cotton Bowl Stadium on May 6.”
The Levi’s date, originally scheduled for April 23, has been moved to May 15. The two Coldplay shows at SoFi Stadium have been postponed and have not yet been moved. Coldplay expects to announce new SoFi dates “as soon as possible”, according to the band’s statement.
The second concert affected by the reshuffle is the date of State Farm Stadium in Phoenix. The show, which was originally set for May 3rd, is now scheduled for May 12th.
“We apologize (sic) to all concerned ticket holders for the inconvenience these reorganizations will cause,” the band said.
“No other dates are affected – Music of the Spheres World Tour still starts in Costa Rica on March 18 as planned. Thank you for your understanding. We can not wait to see everyone soon,” the band said.
Fans can stick to their previously purchased tickets, which will be honored for the new show dates. They can also request a refund at their place of purchase.
