The murders of two 16-year-old boys who were stabbed to death in London are believed to be linked, police say.

Police have appealed for information about the killings after the boys were found in two locations around a mile apart in Thamesmead, southeast London, on Saturday.

Both youths were later pronounced dead.

In an update on Sunday, the Metropolitan Police said homicide detectives are treating the stabbings as linked.
